Hieroglyphs Chapter 13
Shippou looked up from his coloring as Sesshomaru entered the ship again. The tall dog demon did not spare him a glance and quickly left the main area. He looked over at his adopted father. "Why is Uncle walking funny and wearing clothes that are too small?"
Inuyasha turned from his station and looked at kit, "Didn't see runt. He was walking funny?"
Shippou nodded and jumped up to the table. "Yeah, he was walking like this." The fox kit promptly started walking with his legs slightly apart. "And his clothes didn't fit." He pulled the legs of his trousers up to show Inuyasha.
"Shippou, you shouldn't walk on the table," Kagome scolded, gentl

Naraku stumbled, righted himself, took a few more steps and stumbled again this time crashing to the ground. Realizing what was wrong he fumbled with the folds of his robes. He pulled the vial from one of the pockets, lifted it to his lips, and drank.
Seeing the fall, she dashed across the desert pulling the dagger from her waist.
Sesshomaru became a silver-white blur against the sandy yellow background, appearing at the female's

Kagome sat by Sesshomaru's bedside, head rested on folded forearms. The infirmary was quiet, except for the slow beeping of the monitors attached to the Captain. It had been nearly 48 hours since she had administered the antidote to her brother-in-law and there had been no change, except maybe a slight slowing in his decline. His heartbeat and breathing were dangerously low, lower than any human patient could tolerate. She lifted her head as the doors opened and gave her mate a weak smile. Any words she was about to say were drowned out by the sudden silence followed steady monotone whine from the monitors that indicated loss of rhythm. She d

Shizuka cautiously approached the great bird, more of the medicine in her hands. She stood in front of it wondering how to ask the gods for permission to enter when the chest slid open and Shippou bounded down the ramp. "Morning Shizuka!" the kit called, skidding to a halt in front of her.
She gave him a tight smile. "Hello Shippou," she replied, "I would like to see Anubis and Ma'at. Do you think it would be alright--"
Shippou took her hand, leading her up the ramp. "Of course, they like you."
He led her through the strange halls of the god's home and took her to the room where Anubis lay sle

Shizuka looked into the god's golden eyes and for a brief moment was going to lie to him. "None," she replied, softly and then patted his hand. "But none have come to me as quickly, there is still hope."
The mouse turned her gaze to the others. "Please, time is passing quickly. We must gather the ingredients for the potion and I must return to finish my other."
Kagome looked from Shizuka to Inuyasha. She wanted to go with the mouse to learn her craft but she didn't want to leave her mate.
Inuyasha let the mouse's words sink in, after thousands of years, and colonizing two planets a backw

Through the intercom, Kagome heard the coughing. She frowned, puzzled at first. If Sango was calling her then who was coughing? Inuyasha? Sesshomaru? Miroku? The young doctor hurried down the corridor. Sesshomaru stood looking at his coughing doubled over half brother, a strange look in his golden eyes. "Inuyasha?"
Inuyasha looked at his brother, for the first time in over a thousand years he admitted he was afraid. Through the coughing he tried to speak, "Can't ..." he waited for the wave of coughs to pass to get out another word, "stop"
Sesshomaru continued to stare at his brother, not an

Sango sat at her console, immersing herself in her work to ease the pain of the loss of Kohaku. Miroku had long since gone and the others had disappeared into their quarters, after she had made it clear that she actually wanted to be alone. The other workstations were for the moment dark and the only light in the area came from her screen. She opened the imaging data that the small satellite probe they had sent out before landing had gathered. The environmentalist made a mental note to command the orbiting machine to crash land before they made their report to the Council.

Sango had expected that Sesshomaru would call them into a meeting as soon as they entered the Shikon no Tama but the dog demon swept down the corridor, disappearing into his quarters. When he did not return she looked at her crewmates. "I think something's bothering the Captain," she said with a wry smile.
Inuyasha snorted, "More than likely his pride."
"Well, as fun as it is, I think we should stop heckling him," she replied, plugging her scanner into the port on her main station.

Trailer #1
Travelers never beheld the small village of Khefra, hidden in the rocky cliffs near the Valley of the Kings. It housed one temple to Osiris, within its walls prayers and offerings presided over at sunrise and sunset by the wise high priest and priestess. The villagers enjoyed their isolation. The small farms filled the needs of the villagers and none wanted, for they shared what little they had.
Then the great famine came; one, two, three years passed and the livestock began to die off. The farmers begged the priest and priestess to intercede with Osiris to end the famine. Shunning food and water they entered the temple, for
Sango stood the window overlooking the hanger watching as the technicians prepared the Shikon no Tama for launch, absently stroking the cream-colored kitten in her arms. Amid the excitement she always felt when preparing for an off world mission, there was sadness. Normally her brother, Kohaku would be here beside her, ready to help but he the mysterious illness that ravaged his small body confined him to a hospital bed. Not even Kagome, one of the top ranked doctors on earth, could determine what was wrong with the boy. She had almost decided not to come on the mission but Kohaku had insisted she go, perhaps a cure could be found on some
Months passed as the Shikon no Tama's FTL engines drove it through the voids of space headed towards the small planet while within its hull the crew slept in their hibernation units. Sensors recorded any anomalies and artificial intelligence navigational computers adjusted as needed. Solar systems mapped and reports sent back to Earth 3. Data transitions and messages for the crew were received and stored. Six months, three weeks, four days and sixteen hours after the hibernation chambers had activated they began the slow process of reviving the four person and one kitten crew.
Kagome awoke first, as medical officer it was her job to make

Heiroglyphs -- Chapter One
The day started like any other in Khefra; within the temple Naraku watched as the lesser priest, Miroku, along with his sister performed the morning prayers to the gods. The servants and slaves went about their morning task of preparing the meals, washing the steps leading into the temple. Stonecutters continued their work, making the statues for the new pyramid that had been ordered for the high priests tomb. Painters carefully copied the hieroglyphics the high priestess Kikyou had diligently written for them. Prayers were offered to Anubis and his brother Ap-uat to guide the recently deceased father of Naraku. Ma'at entreated to find his he

Emerald eyes slid open and Shippou awoke in a soft bed, covered over by an equally soft blanket. He looked around and saw on the other side of the room, Ma'at studying a rectangular object that shone light on her face. She sat on another bed, behind her Anubis lay sleeping. The fox kit sat up and the goddess looked away from the lighted object and at him. "Good morning Shippou," she whispered. "Are you hungry?"
Shippou just nodded his head.
Kagome slipped quietly out of the bed, setting her reader on the bedside table and after turning it off padded across the room to the food panel. For a few moments she studied the selections

Meeting in Dreams
She walked through the dim dreamscape, fog swirling about her feet, searching for one in particular. Finally she found the mind she was looking for. Near it slept another, one she wished to touch but knew she could not. He was no longer hers. She turned to the other, entering her dreams. The landscape turned bright and now she stood in a field of spring time flowers. Across the field, her back turned to her, stood the one she needed to see. "Akisame?" she called, softly.
Akisame looked up from the view of the old Western castle and turned. The figure in front of her raised a tendril of fear within her. "Akari"

Kikyou led Ap-uat through the village stopping as they neared the marketplace, "Great Ap-uat, is there anything you wish to see or questions I may answer for you?"
Sesshomaru was not in a pleasant mood. That woman had forced him into the idiotic half naked dress of the natives and now he had to endure the company of the priestess. The dog demon essentially tuned her out as they walked, instead focusing on the architecture. It took him several minutes to realize she had asked him a question. He looked down at her, suddenly struck by her resemblance to his half brother's mate. "Yes," he finally replied, "What is this

Sango stepped out of her quarters with a wide yawn, as she pulled her thick dark hair into a pony tail. The ship was quiet but for the soft hum of electricity feeding the necessary systems. She walked down the dimly lit corridor to the meeting area, just behind the cockpit and was surprised to see Sesshomaru already there, various reports flickering across the screen in front of him.
He made no move to indicate that he knew she was there but the environmentalist knew better. Her captain had probably known she was coming before she even set foot across the threshold into the room. "Good morning," she called.
Sesshomaru did turn

Inuyasha led the group at a brisk yet considerate pace for the humans through the hot arid landscape. Stopping often to allow everyone to rest and reminding them to drink water. Sango and Miroku rejoined them at the third such stop and the now rejoined party continued. They had not traveled far when Inuyasha began to smell the sickly sweet stench of decay. "Sango, Kagome stay here, Sess, you're with me." Not waiting to see if his orders were carried out he started towards the scent.
Sesshomaru suppressed the rumble that rose in his chest at his brother's command and followed. His nose wrinkled when the wind shifted,
